What。 Was。 This。 🤯After really disliking the second book in the AGGGM series, I hadn't planned on reading the third until I got an invite to read it on NetGalley。 Let's just say this book is definitely way more dark and twisted。 It jumps the shark in a huge way about halfway in, but it worked for me since I read it in nearly one sitting。 Is this high quality literature? Absolutely not。 But it's the dark teen thriller my summer reading needed。 What。 Was。 This。 🤯After really disliking the second book in the AGGGM series, I hadn't planned on reading the third until I got an invite to read it on NetGalley。 Let's just say this book is definitely way more dark and twisted。 It jumps the shark in a huge way about halfway in, but it worked for me since I read it in nearly one sitting。 Is this high quality literature? I received an ARC of this title from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review。 All opinions are my own and were not affected by the free copy。I want to start off with, I LOVED AGGGTM and GGBB, but this book absolutely ruined the series for me。 It had everything I wanted: Well written ✔Great characters ( I LOVE Ravi) ✔Good portrayal of mental health issues ✔Mystery ✔A spectacular first 50% ✔But。。。。。。I hated everything that happened after part 1。 We have such a drastic change in character and I I received an ARC of this title from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review。 All opinions are my own and were not affected by the free copy。I want to start off with, I LOVED AGGGTM and GGBB, but this book absolutely ruined the series for me。 It had everything I wanted: Well written ✔Great characters ( I LOVE Ravi) ✔Good portrayal of mental health issues ✔Mystery ✔A spectacular first 50% ✔But。。。。。。I hated everything that happened after part 1。 We have such a drastic change in character and I just couldn't get past it; maybe I'm just naïve for hating the choices that were made, but the last half left me physically ill。 I love murder mysteries, thrillers, horrors, the works, but very rarely does a book make me so anxious as this one did。 I did not enjoy how quickly this book turned dark (though I did see the big reveal coming); it felt like two separate books。 Now, I will say this: even though I hated the book, it was EXTREMELY well written, and I could not stop thinking about it for a full 24 hours after that。 So even though this book was not for me, it will be a great addition to the series for most people。 。。。more

As Good As Dead was a fantastic book。 It simply captivates you and forces you to think more deeply than any other book。 The plot was fantastic。 Pip has been receiving internet threats that have manifested themselves in her daily life。 In short, she discovers that she is being stalked, and the cops refuse to believe and help her。 She'll have to figure out what to do on her own now, especially after learning that her stalker has ties to a serial killer。 Except for the fact that this serial killer As Good As Dead was a fantastic book。 It simply captivates you and forces you to think more deeply than any other book。 The plot was fantastic。 Pip has been receiving internet threats that have manifested themselves in her daily life。 In short, she discovers that she is being stalked, and the cops refuse to believe and help her。 She'll have to figure out what to do on her own now, especially after learning that her stalker has ties to a serial killer。 Except for the fact that this serial killer is currently incarcerated。 Is it possible that it's the same individual? I received a free copy from NetGalley。 I really enjoyed this series。 Please read them in order and close enough together that you remember well what happened in each book as they build on each other without mentioning what has already happened in enough detail to skip having read one。 This one has a twist that I did not see coming。

Name a better trilogy than this。 I'll wait。 Tick, tock, tick, tock, can't name one? Ok, well, for those who read Good Girl, Bad Blood, you know what happens and I won't spoil it for those who haven't read it yet。 But AGAD starts where we left off。 Pip isn't OK。 Not at all。 She's spiraling out of control, fueled by the events of book one and two。 She is no longer the determined, fierce go-getter we saw in AGGGTM。 Part of her transformation is why I loved this last installment so much。 This poor girl has seen some s&^t and any normal person would react the same way。 She's haunted by those who have died, and she needs a big fat frappe and a trip to Disney World badly。 But not right now because we don't want the COVID, but you get the idea。 Strange things start happening to her, and nobody wants to believe her。 Nobody wants to help。 They think she's paranoid because of her ptsd。 But they are dead wrong。 Holly Jackson must have planned out all three books simultaneously because there are things in book one that make so much more sense in book three。 I do have to say, I was NOT expecting what happened to happen。 At first, it felt a little out of character, but GOD did it make for some good tension。 I felt that stress in my bones。 I've seen some of the one or two-star reviews。 Could Holly have written this book differently? Sure。 But guess what? It's her book。 This is where she wanted Pip, and I have to give respect where respect is due。 She took a big chance with the events of this book and I have a feeling it will tip people this way or that with no wiggle room。 But honestly, I had not felt this much anxiety and dread reading a book, and I base my rating based on how a book takes hold of my emotions。 Could Pip's story have gone up a different path? Yes。 But good God did this story punch me in the face because you guys and gals are going to riot when this book gets in your hands。 It is brutal, and it is shocking and it will take you on a rollercoaster ride of feels。I shall close out this review with a QUOTE and leave you to your own devices。 I loved the book。 I want a fourth book。 Give me more PIP!“Revenge is sweet and not fattening。”― Alfred Hitchcock 。。。more

This is Holly Jackson's third book in the "Good Girl" series。 I would definitely recommend that you read the first two books in order, as they are all intertwined。 Honestly, this was my least favorite novel of the three。 I feel it took a left turn in the character development, especially with Pippa。She is now a high school graduate, and trying to get out of her head during the final weeks of summer, before heading off to Columbia for college。 In As Good as Dead, Pip turns more into the victim as This is Holly Jackson's third book in the "Good Girl" series。 I would definitely recommend that you read the first two books in order, as they are all intertwined。 Honestly, this was my least favorite novel of the three。 I feel it took a left turn in the character development, especially with Pippa。She is now a high school graduate, and trying to get out of her head during the final weeks of summer, before heading off to Columbia for college。 In As Good as Dead, Pip turns more into the victim as suppose to the teen detective/podcaster。 She still has a desire to right the wrongs of her town and takes justice into her own hands with the help of her friends, but the character is far more frantic and clearly suffering from PTSD, without having proper guidance from the adults in her life。Overall, this was a satisfactory story ending to the 3 book series and is still a great Young Adult crime mystery series。Thank you to NetGalley and Random House for an advance copy of this novel in exchange for an honest review。 。。。more

I started to lose interest and it started to drag for me。 And Pips character started to become annoying。 I don’t believe that she would willingly kill someone instead of going to the police and it is even harder for me to believe that she would kill and hide a murder over putting the real killer behind bars and letting an innocent person free。 Honestly i stopped paying as much attention after this because the story felt so disjointed and stopped reading before i got to the end。 Sad to say that a series that i loved so much has become DNFed。 。。。more

This is the last book in the Good Girl's Guide trilogy。 There was definitely a twist in this one that I did NOT see coming。 While it was different, I'm not sure it was true to Pip's character。 Also, I don't think this gives away too much, but Pip gets involved with the local deug dealer and starts buying xanax from him because she can't sleep after what happened to her in the last novel。 And again I don't think that was true to her character。 I would have liked to see her work out her PTSD issue This is the last book in the Good Girl's Guide trilogy。 There was definitely a twist in this one that I did NOT see coming。 While it was different, I'm not sure it was true to Pip's character。 Also, I don't think this gives away too much, but Pip gets involved with the local deug dealer and starts buying xanax from him because she can't sleep after what happened to her in the last novel。 And again I don't think that was true to her character。 I would have liked to see her work out her PTSD issues a little more first rather then turning to drugs。 I did love the overall story line but at points it got very wordy and overly descriptive。 But all in all a great read! 。。。more

Evil, brilliant, emotionally turbulent。 You go look at my FitBit heart rate chart for when I was reading this。 IT WAS ALL OVER THE PLACE! Did I flatline at some point? Maybe。Honestly, I had 0% clue where this book was going - just how I wanted it。 I wanted to feel every twist and turn of this story as it came and well 。 。 。 didn't I just。 I feel like I should have prepared for this, but is there any preparing? No。 I beg of you, please read this book without spoiling yourself。 Part of the fun of it is not seeing it coming。So, after the end of Good Girl, Bad Blood, Pip was left traumatised, literally and figuratively because of the blood on her hands。 The lines between what is justice, good and bad were all blurred for her, leaving her in a confused, anxious state, while also dealing with the trauma of the death she had born witness too。 This trauma was ever-present in the beginning of As Good As Dead, we find Pip turning to certain places and things to help her deal with her PTSD that aren't exactly the healthiest (understatement)。 And this PTSD, her guilt, her anger, maintained itself all throughout the novel, and I found it was very well written。 We see how it impacts Pip, the relationships with the people around her, and her decision making。AHHH。 DECISION MAKING。 GOSH I WILL NOT SPOIL BUT AHHH。Okay, back to calm。 I love how this book tied everything together from book 1! It really brought the mystery back full circle, re-opening old cases, finding new clues to another mystery。。。Just so well detailed and plotted。 (And to think that A Good Girl's Guide to Murder was meant to be a standalone?!)As I briefly mentioned above, Pip - just like in the previous installment - begins to question what is 'justice', and whether 'evil' and 'good' aren't as black and white as they mean to be。 This is a really interesting discourse, which again, I believe is handled sensitively - take the stuff with Becca Bell。 Pip knows what she did was wrong, but does that make Becca evil? Now that is a trickier line for her。Also, I just need you all to know, I love Ravi。 He is so precious and the most heartbreaking moment of this book was when he cried。 Holly, we fight at dawn。 Also Pip's friends? Get me some of those。 Friends who ***** ** * ****** ******** stay together! Although, in their defence, they didn't quite know what they were doing 。 。 。 just that they would do whatever for Pip。Overall, I really liked this novel。 Is 'entertaining' the wrong word to use? Heart racing, for sure。 Some part of me wished it had taken a different direction than it did a the 50% mark (walk away Pip!) but that's more out of self-preservation for my stress levels and wanting Pip to live a happy life without that burden。 But the decision to do that? BOLD。 Jackson really went out there with this one & she pulled it off。 Thank you to Netgalley and Electric Monkey for this e-Arc in exchange for an honest review(But pls can I now have a novella of Pip and Ravi just being happy and living in bliss。 I need it to heal)。 。。。more

*2。5 starsThere are many thoughts。 I don't think I can wrap my head around what just happened, I just know I started sobbing while on FaceTime with my friend。 I don't know how to feel。 Without a doubt, though, this is going to be the most polarizing book of the series。 Huge note before we start that although the first two books are 13/14+, this book is more like 16+。 In my opinion, the more unaware about the plot you go into the book, the better。 However, know that this book is dark and it is so *2。5 starsThere are many thoughts。 I don't think I can wrap my head around what just happened, I just know I started sobbing while on FaceTime with my friend。 I don't know how to feel。 Without a doubt, though, this is going to be the most polarizing book of the series。 Huge note before we start that although the first two books are 13/14+, this book is more like 16+。 In my opinion, the more unaware about the plot you go into the book, the better。 However, know that this book is dark and it is sometimes graphic。 Please check TW (listed at the bottom)。 I also don't want this review to deter you from reading the book。 I know many readers yearn for more after the ending of book 2, and I encourage you to read this book and form opinions of your own。 Again, this book is super polarizing, so even though I didn't like it as much, that doesn't mean you'll dislike it too。 Also, don't let this review deter you from starting the series as a whole -- I rated book 1 5 stars and book 2 like 100/5 stars。 It's worth it。 Now time for some more thoughts。 In terms of the positive, I thought the darker turn this book took was interesting, and I like the deep connections there were between this book and the previous two。 Like book 2, some big players come back again。 Pip and Ravi's banter was reminiscent of the first two books and was really cute, as always, and I liked how Pip considered Ravi as a cornerstone of everything good in the world。 My favorite part about this book was the questions it raised。 Think of the ending of book 2 but multiplied by 10。 You just wonder - did this person deserve their fate? Did this person repent for their sins? Who deserves to walk free, and who deserves to be punished? What makes a good person? If anything is clear, it's that no one is fully good or bad。 This entire book lies in the gray area。 Moving onto the things I didn't like as much。 My biggest critique is the plot。 The plot took a huge turn about 50% in, and that's also where my feelings for the book started to waver a bit。 Were the decisions Pip made good? That's for you to determine。 (Though, objectively, they're not the best) I know that even though I personally didn't agree with many of those decisions, there is always a degree of nuance in everything。 I just。。 my morals were really tested here。 Also, the plot of the last 50% was less engaging for me; the first and second halves of the book are really so different, and I found the first part much more interesting than the second。 I also feel like there were a lot of loose ends that could have been straightened out (beyond the ones that were intentionally left open)。 The book tried to come full circle, but there was a lot left to question (maybe that's the point) and maybe it's not even possible for a full-circle moment to even occur。 My biggest comfort with the first two books was the relationships Pip had in her life: her friends, family, and Ravi。 And although they were still there, the plot of this book made me lose a little faith in these relationships。 It all falls in a gray area。 That's all I'm going to say。 I came into this book wanting closure。 I don't think I got it。 Maybe that's a commentary。 Overall, I still love the AGGGTM series, but this book just wasn't my cup of tea。 Thank you to NetGalley and Random House Children's for the e-ARC in exchange for an honest review。 CW: murder, arson, kidnapping, PTSD, drugging, substance abuse (drugs), rape (mentioned) 。。。more
